Information Exchange    

Exchanging information is easy! If you use a family history software program that can produce a file in GEDCOM format then we can actually exchange databases via email. But don't worry if you do not have this facility, I'm happy to exchange information in a variety of formats and media including plain text email or even post!  A GEDCOM file is a file with names, dates, locations, and notes that is in a special format that can be read by other genealogy programs. Do not load data into your family history database until you are sure about it's contents. It's best to make a backup of your existing database or load it into a temporary database so that you can examine it first before committing to loading it. Note: For privacy and security you may wish to exclude people who are still alive when exchanging family information.  Getting started in Genealogy If you have just found this site by browsing the web and want to know how to trace your ancestors then you will be pleased to know there is a wealth of freely available information. A good place to start is the GENUKI site, which is a non-commercial online genealogy resource.
