Information Exchange    

 

 

Exchanging information is easy!

If you use a family history software program that can produce a file in GEDCOM format then we can actually exchange data via email. But don't worry if you do not have this facility, I'm happy to exchange information in a variety of formats and media including plain text email or even post! 

A GEDCOM file is a file with names, dates, locations, and notes that is in a special format that can be read by other family history programs but please do not load data into your family history database until you are sure about it's contents. It is best to make a backup of your existing data or load it into a temporary database so that you can examine it first before committing to loading it.

Note: For privacy and security you may wish to exclude people who are still alive when exchanging family information. 

 

Getting started in Genealogy
